Jane Ozkowski Author PhotoWhen I was in my first year of Creative Writing at York University, my professor asked everyone why they were there. A lot of people said it was because they wanted to be a teacher and they liked writing. A few said they wanted to write a book someday. Surprisingly, I was the only one who said I eventually wanted to be universally recognized as the best writer who ever lived.

The goal of complete domination in all forms of literature is still in the back of my mind, however, right now I’m trying to focus on writing good books that people like and feel a connection with.

When I’m not writing, I can be found riding my bicycle Pocahontas through the streets of Toronto, playing croquet on the beach or else drinking a beer on a patio somewhere. I love travelling, especially by train, and I often find myself in unusual circumstances – cutting a stranger’s hair in New Orleans in the park where jazz was invented, wandering through the streets of Berlin looking for quail’s eggs. I have a passion for meeting new people and saying yes to the unexpected.

I love hearing from readers and fellow writers. Why not send me and e-mail? janeozkowski@gmail.com.

You can totally delete this comment, but I think you meant *watching* Pocahontas. Unless you meant Pocahontasing, which is a completely acceptable pastime that I may or may not be very much interested in.

    Also, I love your writing.

Thanks for the comment and for catching that! I love the idea of Pocahontasing as a verb. Pocahontas is actually the name of my bike. Maybe I’ll take out the commas and hope that makes it more clear. I really like your writing as well!
